Mt. Meru Factsheet
Basic Info: Mount Meru is one of Africa's most beautiful volcanoes, and it is the second highest mountain in Tanzania. The mountain is located within Arusha National Park. This prime location gives climbers the opportunity to spot some of the birds and wildlife that inhabit the area.
How To Get There
A few kilometres from Arusha Town. Mt. Meru is approximately one hour's drive from Kilimanjaro International Airport.
Activities on Mount Meru
One can either engage in trout fishing or take up one of the day or overnight hikes on the plateau. The mountain has nature trails on the lower reaches and trekking is possible via several trekking routes to the summit and other more-demanding mountaineering routes.
When To Go
Clearest and warmest conditions from December to February, but also dry (and colder) between July and September. The best time to climb Meru is between October and February. June to September is also a good time to visit although it is colder then.

Naro Moru is the most popular and fastest route to point Lenana although not the most scenic. Traverse though the notoriously treacherous vertical bog and into the wide Teleki Valley beneath the Tryndall, The Lewis Glacier.
Arrival day in Tanzania: Kilimanjaro to Moshi 45Km (27 miles) 50 Min drive. You will be met at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to Moshi where you will be taken directly to your hotel.
