Equipment for Climbing Africa Mountains
Here is a list of what to take on a climb of Africa's Second Highest Mountain, Mt Kenya. Although most equipment can be hired from our local offices, you may want to consider bringing items necessary for your mountain climb safari.
Accessories (Reccommended)
Headlamp and flashlight with spare batteries & bulb
Walking poles
Sleeping Bag
Gaiters to keep mud, rocks, and snow out of your boots.
Water purifying tablets (drinking water directly from streams)
1 pocket swiss army knife
1 travel pillow (optional)
Photography (Optional):
Camera (spare batteries), film, and different lenses.
Binoculars, video camera, video tapes, battery packs.
Naro Moru is the most popular and fastest route to point Lenana although not the most scenic. Traverse though the notoriously treacherous vertical bog and into the wide Teleki Valley beneath the Tryndall, The Lewis Glacier.
Arrival day in Tanzania: Kilimanjaro to Moshi 45Km (27 miles) 50 Min drive. You will be met at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to Moshi where you will be taken directly to your hotel.
