The Aberdare Ranges Factsheet
Basic Info: The Aberdare Range, formerly known as the Sattima Range has an average elevation of 11,000 feet (3,350m) and culminates in Oldoinyo Lesatima (13,120 feet [3,999m]) and Ilkinangop (12,815 feet [3,906m]). The Aberdares slope gradually east and southeast, providing a fine example of an immature, consequent drainage pattern, before the ground rises again to the cone of Mount Kenya (17,058 feet [5,199m]).
How to Get to Aberdare National Park
Aberdare is 160km (99 miles) from Nairobi and one can get there by road. There is a tarmac road from Nyeri and Naro Moru on the eastern side of Aberdare.
